My goal in breeding this litter was to
produce another competition dog for myself and to continue on with the line for
future working companions. Both parents are over six years old with
excellent health records and showing strong immune systems. As I expect my
dogs to be able to continue showing into their veteran years, I am looking for
good structure, health, high intelligence and a willingness to work. This
litter has a beautiful combination of show and high level performance dogs along
with longevity.
The mother was put on prenatal DHA at the time of mating which recent studies
have shown increases brain and nerve cells for higher intelligence and problem
solving in puppies. They are raised in my house and I follow the early
neurological stimulation program along with a daily TTouch session. As
they get older, along with the usual introduction of wobble boards, tunnels, and
other agility type equipment, they are worked with daily on prey, retrieving,
obstacle and clicker games. Puppy desensitization sound tapes are
played in the mornings, and we have a "collection" of neighborhood children
ready to help with socialization. The puppies will be started on crate
training and housebreaking. All pups are cropped, docked and dew claws done and
will be ready to go at around 10-12 weeks of age.
